Personal Political Philosophy

My “must read” title for college students seeking to understand something about this election: The Year of Voting Dangerously: The Derangement of American Politics by Maureen Dowd

My approach to or philosophy of American politics and elections: “A typical vice of American politics is the avoidance of saying anything real on real issues.” – Theodore Roosevelt

The four (4) people (living or deceased) I would invite to dinner for the purpose of better understanding American political life are: Thomas Jefferson, George Gallup, Woodrow Wilson, Peggy Noonan

Wake the Vote Experience

My most memorable Wake the Vote experience so far: My most memorable WTV experience was attending a Chris Christie town hall in New Hampshire. I still look back on the town hall and think about the way in which the election has developed just since February. I, also, was extremely fascinated by the Town Hall experience. Engaging with a candidate on such an intimate level was something I had never experienced before. The town hall experience stood out to me as being what democracy in the United States is all about- politicians and people coming together to discuss real issues.
