Personal Political Philosophy

My “must read” title for college students seeking to understand something about this election: Give Us the Ballot by Ari Berman

My approach to or philosophy of American politics and elections: “The Master’s tools will never dismantle the Master’s house.” – Audre Lorde

The four (4) people (living or deceased) I would invite to dinner for the purpose of better understanding American political life are: Barack Obama, Valerie Jarrett, Lyndon B. Johnson, and George H.W. Bush

Wake the Vote Experience

Working on the Marco Rubio campaign in Iowa gave me my first real experience with the realities of bipartisanship in this splintered electorate. It was definitely a challenge for me to work with someone who is on the opposite end of the political spectrum from my own ideology but it was definitely worth it to learn more intimately about the workings of a campaign.
